Ever looking for a quick and easy side dish? I may have just the thing for you. This side takes about 15 minutes to complete from beginning to end and it’s a tasty alternative to plain white rice.What you will need:
2 c. white Minute Rice
1 can chicken or beef broth – depending on what you are making it with.
1 t. Kosher salt (or to taste)
4 T. butter
Pinch Italian Seasoning
1 – 1 1/2 T. ONION ONION (Tastefully Simple) Seasoning
1/8 c. shredded cheese (I prefer white cheese for this, like Mozzarella or Parmesan)
2 chopped cleaned green onion (optional for color and flavor).
Pour broth in pot. Add the salt, butter, Italian Seasoning, and the ONION ONION. Cover. Turn burner on to HIGH and bring just to a boil (making sure butter has melted).
Pour in rice, quickly stir, and re-cover. Let the rice sit until the water is soaked in. Stir in the cheese and green onion until the cheese is well blended.
VOILA! A delicious, creamy, tasty side of rice. 🙂 And it’s a bit healthier than the box rice mixes 🙂
